A little extra support when you need it
A home loan often involves more than just the loan. Depending on what you're doing, there may be other professionals you need along the way. If you don't already have someone you know and trust, I'm happy to introduce you to professionals who may be able to help.
Conveyancers & solicitors
For contract reviews, property transfers, settlement and the legal side of buying or selling a property.
Building & pest inspectors
To inspect a property and help identify potential building defects, maintenance concerns or pest issues before you purchase.
Buyers advocates
A buyers advocate works on your side when purchasing a property. They can help with searching for suitable properties, assessing opportunities, negotiating with agents and bidding at auction. This can be particularly helpful if you're time poor, unsure about the property market or simply want an experienced person representing your interests during the purchase.
Vendor advocates
If you're selling, a vendor advocate can help you navigate the sales process. They can assist with selecting and dealing with real estate agents, reviewing the proposed sales strategy and marketing, and helping you understand and negotiate the offers you receive.
Accountants
For tax and accounting matters, particularly if you're investing, self-employed or considering how a property transaction may affect your broader tax position.
Financial planners & advisers
For broader financial planning and advice outside of your home loan.
Other property & professional specialists
If something comes up during your property or finance journey that sits outside my area, I'm always happy to help you find the right person to speak with where I can.
And one thing that's worth thinking about
For many people, taking on a home loan is one of the biggest financial commitments they'll ever make. While we're spending time making sure the loan is right, it's also a good opportunity to think about what would happen to that commitment if life didn't go according to plan.
You may already have personal insurance through superannuation, privately or through an existing policy. It's worth knowing what cover you have and considering whether it is still appropriate for your circumstances and the people who rely on you.
A few questions worth asking yourself
- What personal insurance cover do I currently have?
- Do I know what I'm actually covered for?
- Has it been reviewed recently?
- Would my existing cover be enough for my financial commitments and circumstances?
- If someone relies on my income, what would their position look like if something happened to me?
I don't provide personal insurance advice, so I won't tell you what cover you should have or how much you need. Everything here is general information only — it doesn't take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. If you'd like to review your current position, I can introduce you to a suitably qualified specialist. There's no obligation.
